Entry Permit

Indian nationals need a valid passport (6-month validity) or original Voter ID. No visa required — a permit is issued on arrival with SDF payment of INR 1,200/night for adults.

Best Time to Visit

Spring (Mar–Jun) and Autumn (Sep–Dec) offer clear skies and pleasant weather. Summer brings lush greenery while winter has fewer tourists.

Getting There

Fly via Druk Air or Bhutan Airlines to Paro from Delhi, Kolkata, Bagdogra or Guwahati. By road, enter through Phuentsholing (5 hrs from Bagdogra).

Currency & Language

Bhutanese Ngultrum is at par with INR. Indian Rupees accepted (except 500 & 2000 notes). English widely spoken along with Dzongkha.
